Upon arriving to Taiwan, I was feeling a bit uneasy.  Once I entered the airport, I was greeted with cheers and smiles and I was no longer nervous. It was an unforgettable moment. In the crowd of many faces was my first host family. A cool couple and their two sons. Angel, the mother, and her family made me feel welcome since our first greeting. They were the first people to show me around Taiwan and the local customs. I will always be grateful for being able to meet this family that took me in.

Students in Taiwan know what study means. Everyday I see students working hard in class and at home. But that isn't enough, most students also take up after school courses. I am so amazed at how talented and hardworking the students are here in Taiwan.

Was delighted to receive a warm welcome from both students and teachers at Daye Elementary School.
